Frequently Asked Questions- Walking and Bus Tours
If you have additional questions, please email us at or call 402-651-0047.
I live in Omaha. Do your tours have anything to offer a local?
Absolutely! While you may be familiar with our route and some of the stops, you will have the opportunity to try new foods at the tasting locations and learn more about the establishments themselves. As a local, you have the unique opportunity to re-visit the eateries we feature on the tour and any other recommendations we share along the way! Additionally, this tour is an excellent way to entertain out-of-town guests, celebrate a special occasion or encourage professional team building.
How long do the tours last?
All of our walking and bus tours last approximately 2.5-3 hours, with the exception of our wine tour, which lasts 5 hours. Our private tours are fully customizable and can range in length.
When should I arrive for the tour?
We ask that you arrive to the meeting point at least 10 minutes before the tour's scheduled start time.
Will my tour still take place if there is inclement weather?
Tours will run rain or shine. We will not be outdoors for the entire tour; however, we ask that you check the weather forecast and dress accordingly.
How much walking and standing is involved during the walking tours?
The tour covers approximately 1-2 miles over a 2.5-3 hour period. The tour is conducted at a relaxed pace and stops frequently, including spending approximately 15-20 minutes at each of the designated tasting spots. We still recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes, as we will be on our feet most of the time.
What if I have dietary restrictions or food allergies? Are there vegetarian options on the tour?
Please contact us to discuss any dietary restrictions. As long as we have advance notice, we will do our best to be as acommodating as possible.
How much food is served on the tour?
We generally stop at 5-6 locations. Enough food is served to amount to a satisfying meal for most participants.
Are there any beverages included?
Water is offered during most of our tastings. In addition, you are welcome to purchase other alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages along the way.
Are cameras allowed?
Yes, and we encourage taking photos! Make sure you tag Omaha Culinary Tours if you share your photos online!
Should I bring any extra money for the tour?
We recommend you bring cash if you are interested in tipping your tour guide or purchasing drinks and additional products the establishments may offer.
Are tours only offered in English?
Yes, at the moment our tours are only offered in English. If you would like to make arrangements for an interpreter, please contact us.
What about taking children on the tour? Do they need a ticket as well?
Children are absolutely welcome on the tour! Please keep in mind that tours are 2.5 to 3 hours long and we walk approximately 1-2 miles on the walking tours. All children 3 years and older are required to have a ticket. Children under 3 may attend free of charge if they will not be participating in the food tastings. We kindly ask that you let us know if you plan to bring children under 3 when purchasing your tickets.
Are dogs/pets allowed on the tour?
With the exception of trained service animals, pets are prohibited on all tours.
